Do we know what we eat?

In my research project titled "Do we know what we eat?" I'm going to find out the pros and cons of the transgenic food. First of all, I've chosen this topic because Genetics and Biotechnology are possible degrees that I'm going to do next year. First of all, the objectives of the research project are: to find if transgenic food is harmful to our body, prove if transgenic organisms are better than normal organisms, and study how the farming of transgenics has affected the locality of Castelló d'Empúries.

In my theoric part, I've researched the history of the transgenics since the Prehistory until now, then the processes that are used to produce transgenic food, after that the tools that are used in those processes, and finally I've researched the pros and cons of the transgenics and I gave my opinion.

In my practice part, I planted some ecological corn and some transgenic corn, and then I compared its growth. As I saw the transgenic corn grew faster than the ecological, so I concluded that transgenic corn is more efficient. For studying how the farming of transgenics has affected Castelló d'Empúries I studied the local gardens. In my study, I considered that the only transgenic that is farmed in Castelló d'Empúries is corn, and then I investigated which was the proportion of transgenic corn in front of ecological corn. The proportion of them was around 75-80% transgenic corn and 20-25% ecological corn.

In conclusion and as showed, transgenic corn is more suitable for farmers because it grows faster and it increases their earnings. And in my opinion, transgenics can make our life better but they need to be more regulated.

Should boys always ask a girl out or can a girl ask out too?

Boys are meant to always ask a girl to go out, but I want to ask something: if women are defending the equality between genders why they don't do things that are supposed to be done by men?

I mean, we don't have to be always the ones that have to ask to go out because a relationship is a thing of two, and not always the man has to take the first step. With that I'm not saying that things must change, I just say that we can break conventionalisms and do things in a different way rather than the one we are used to.

I don't want to be "revolutionary" in this issue, but a good alternative would be talking the possibility of going out together and how this relationship is going to work. I'm not well-informed when it comes to open relationships but for what I've heard, many aspects are talked(such as having affairs with other people, if you can repeat the person with who you had an affair if there are "rules" concerning this kind of aspects that may be important  to be talked before you plunge blindly into the unknown).

In conclusion, I think that maybe it doesn't matter who is going to ask going out but the most important part is to talk how the relationship is going to be or how is it going to work instead of worrying who is going to ask going out(at least that's my opinion).

China, the place where evolution started?

Summary:

Scientists have discovered an ancient fish species in Southern China that may have emerged more than a million years before the "Age of Fish".  The fossils of this fish species reveal that the creature had unusual teeth and scales that for scientists resembled a "wall of shields". Using a fossils dating system has been discovered that the fossils have been dated back to the Silurian Period, long before the Devonian Period(which gave rise to a diverse abundance of jawed fishes).

Opinion:

When I was younger I wished to become a paleontologist, nowadays, I understood that paleontology is a very interesting science, but it hasn't an important paper like the genetics have(it's sad but true, and I don't like to admit that one science is more relevant than another, because I like both sciences). But I enjoy this kind of news, that help me to expand my scientific knowledge about dinosaurs and how life was more than 65.000.000 years before.

Massages over Wi-Fi

Summary:

Opinion:

Quite shocking, huh? Now we can give massages over distance, that's freaking amazing. It's amazing to see how fast technology evolves and tries to make our lives easier. Although we don't have flying cars as expected in 2000, I think that our society, our technological society will reach the point of an idyllic technological paradise where technology is going to solve all our problems.

Fates

Like two weeks ago I started playing one of my favourites games: Fire Emblem: Fates. Concretely I started playing the Birthright edition. And I'm very satisfied with muy choice. I started playing the FE saga with FE Awakening in 3DS, but FE Fates is much better than Awakening. 

FE Fates has am incredible plot: you are the prince of Nohr, but somehow you discover that you are the descendant of the kingdom which is warring with Nohr, Hoshido. At some point of the story you have to chose: fight for Nohr and conquer Hoshido, or deffend Hoshido from the Nohrian offensive(there's a third choice which is go by your own and fight Hoshido and Nohr at the same time).

Personally, I would choose the third choice if what happens in the game has sense, but that's not the case so, if I must choose between Conquest or Birthright, I would choose Birthright. Why you may ask, but I don't have any idea of this choice, I just followed my instinct and that happened.

Switch time

Nintendo Switch is almost in the market, and the hype is real. Motherf***ing real. And I'm among the hyped people, seriously. This new console is making Nintendo reach its former glory in its golden days. When The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Pokemon were the coolest thing among the youth.

When Nintendo had its golden days(1998) I wasn't born, but my parents felt the "gamer" passion that was being more and more present. And they told me how a single console could be liked so much. Even my mother started playing the Nintendo 64. And for what I had understood it was my mother who played more from my parents.

But that has happened nearly 20 ago, and now those times come again. Nintendo has abandoned his "for the families" method of selling and they are now focusing in us, the mature public, the real players. And certainly, they are doing it well, very well. Releasing titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, or The Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim for the console. I'M GOING TO BUY IT WITHOUT ANY DOUBT.

This link drives you to a video of a song, that Dario showed me a week ago. And I'm addicted to it because it's hilarious in all ways. The song belongs to a musical named Legally Blonde and I'm not sure of the plot, but this song is the best musical song I've ever listened to(I must admit that I have never ever gone to a musical, at least as far as my memory can reach).

What I like the most of the song is the way how the Americans see us, the Europeans, it's jus funny to see that we are for them. It is just a question of stereotypes I suppose, lmao. But anyway, I recommend you to see the video and have a great time listening to this funny song!

Darth Revan

Maybe one of the most known characters of the Expanded Universe of Star Wars and one of the most influential Sith that has ever existed. Formerly a jedi, after the Mandalorian wars a Sith, and finally a Jedi again after his redeem.

Darth Revan is a very influential characters in the Star Wars Story because of his philosophy, that later inspired Darth Bane to crate the Rule of two. His intention as a Dark Lord of the Sith  was to prepare the Galactic Republic from the arrival of the Reconstructed Sith Empire, which was operating from the Outer Rim.

Why do I like Darth Revan? Just look at him, he looks completely BADASS with it's costume. It is f*cking amazing. It's a pity that a costume of him for carnival has to cost more than 100 euros...

League of Legends

Recentrly I started playing again League of Legends aka LoL, and trust me, I've never enjoyed it as I'm doing it now. When I started playing it December last year, I felt I was going to enjoy it as I had never done. But now I want to raise my skill and some day maybe in a distant future to participate in an official tournament.

My main lane is top, the lane which is far away from the action, but for me it is the best, because I can face my enemy without being interrupted by the jungler, so the foe top laner will have an enormous pressure(if he is not better than me of course).

I know that I'm not the best player on EUW or in the world(for the exception of Faker, Faker could win us without masteries) but I want to become better and better and keep improving my skills as a player.

Yolocaust

Today I don't to do a freaky blog entry as always. Today I want to write about what has happened with Yolocaust. Yolocaust was a project whose objective was to criticize the "funny" selfies that people post on the Internet. What it did was for the sake of making people conscious of the place they are: "Das denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas" literally translated as " The monument for the slaughtered Jews in Europe". I aw an interview on the Internet that showed me how disrespectful was the people with this monument and how unconscious is the people about the Holocaust.

As a German citizen(yes I got German nationality) I agree with many people that think, the monument should be a place to go and think, to think about Holocaust and the consequences that it left behind. I shouldn't be a place to go and have fun, to smile, to laugh... No. It shouldn't.

I know that Holocaust is a thing that happened nearly 75 years ago, but my ancestors gave support to Hitler's insane governing. When I visited Auschwitz I was completely shocked, all the stuff I saw there was shocking in all ways. I'll always remember the tears that jews students that went there had in their faces, and moreover I'll never forget the amount of human hair I saw. After seeing it, I felt guilty. I know, I did nothing in that war, but really, we must be conscious of what we did and the consequences it brought, but, overall, we must show respect to  the monuments that remind us our crimes.
